About

We are about Jesus.  It starts with Jesus, continues with Jesus, and ends with Jesus. This belief is the foundation of our church and informs all we preach, teach, and practice. Our mission in the United Methodist Church of Peekskill is to be the visible expression of Jesus Christ in the world through a diversified community of faith, loving each other, spreading kindness, initiating and maturing disciples, and transforming lives through Christ.

We also believe...
In the Trinity: God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
In Jesus as human, divine, and resurrected.
In the constant presence of the Spirit.
In the Bible as the inspired text of God which contains all we need for salvation.
In the church as the body of Jesus Christ in the world.
In the sacred worth of every human being.

Condemn no person for not thinking as you think. Let everyone enjoy the full and free liberty of thinking for him or herself.

Let everyone use his own judgment since everyone must give an account of himself to God.

Abhor every approach, in any kind or degree, to the spirit of persecution, if you cannot reason nor persuade someone into the truth,

never attempt to force anyone into it. If love will not compel them to come, leave them to God, the judge of all.

Methodists are not a single congregation standing at a city intersection. We are a vibrant global church numbering in the millions, actively engaging with our world in many ways but always with the guidance of the life and teachings of Jesus.
