When Things Looked Their Worst…

Jesus was born in a stable with a king hell-bent on killing him.  When things looked their worst, Jesus was humiliated, abandoned, nailed to a cross, and facing death alone.  When things looked their worst, believers were persecuted, scattered, and living in fear.  When things look their worst…God is giving us His best!  Please pray now for eyes to see and ears to hear.

Advent begins this month, and as we retell the greatest love story ever, we may choose to continue on life’s most awesome journey—again.   When we live like we believe (without our being in control) God created us, saved us from sins penalty, and continues to save us from sins power, we begin walking through human fears, and we begin walking in divine faith.  We remember and we focus on Sovereign God walking with us.

From Advent, we journey through Jesus’ birth, His life with the Disciples, His preparation for death, His crucifixion and His resurrection.  Prayerfully, we’ll arrive at the promise: God will never leave us nor forsake us.  Prayerfully, we’ll receive the promise: God’s Holy Spirit is living in us.  Prayerfully, we’ll live the promise: greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.

I pray that life’s distractions, discouragements, and dangers don’t keep us from seeing and hearing God’s devotion—“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Hallelujah!

On This Awesome Journey—Again,

Pastor Major
